The central theme at this year’s fabric fair was ‘hygge’, Danish for homely & hugs, or Dutch for ‘gezelligheid’. It translated into interior theme’s such as warmth and cosiness which was shown in many colourful fabrics and wallpapers such as warm reds, burnt oranges and deep blues.
An explosion of colour with a soft huggable feel will hopefully continue this luxurious trend.
My love of Danish Design.
Manufacturers and designers have embraced wood and organic finishes at this year’s furniture fair in Germany. Brands such as WOUD and Andersen have made unique and beautiful products using natural materials. Wood is the trend of 2017 and this trend is likely to continue, combining simple furniture design with gorgeous fabrics such as wool, velvet and leather.
